Who We Are
About Gracefully Giving Back

Gracefully Giving Back is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Northeast Nebraska dedicated to helping seniors in care facilities age with dignity. The organization provides essential companionship and social engagement through signature programs like live music, crafts, and holiday celebrations to reduce isolation among local seniors and veterans.

“Our organization was established out of a desire to give back to aging community members residing in Northeast Nebraska’s care facilities and at the Norfolk Veterans’ Home.”

“Our experience has shown us that volunteer visits to care facilities provide essential companionship and support, which help reduce feelings of isolation among residents. We believe our music, craft, and Bingo activities enhance the quality of care by promoting social engagement and improving seniors’ overall well-being.”

Friday Music

A bright spot in the week

Vice President Mike Gall devotes his Friday afternoons each week to sharing his cowboy style of music with the residents of the area’s care facilities, joined by Founder Betty Lopez and the GGB volunteers who encourage participation by clapping and singing. These events prove to be an obvious bright spot in the day of the seniors in attendance, as evidenced by their smiling faces.

Craft Events

Inspiring mind & dexterity

From contact and tissue paper suncatchers to peanut butter and pine cone birdfeeders, GGB’s craft projects stimulate the creativity in both volunteers and residents. Each craft activity is designed to inspire the mind, enhance dexterity, and provide a sense of accomplishment.

Supporting Our Heroes

The Norfolk Veterans' Home

Engaging with the residents of The Norfolk Veteran’s Home during our music events and Holiday programs is a heartfelt privilege, and we also organize a special event each year on Veterans Day. We collaborate with the Vet’s Home team to maximize the impact of donations earmarked for veterans.
